How we can help you
Eating well helps you live well and it’s important our diet contains lots of healthy, nutritious food. Being able to prepare and cook your own meals at home can help you remain independent and our Food Preparation Service is here to help you feel more confident in the kitchen.
Our service helps older people who want to continue cooking for themselves but want support and assistance to do this. Our trained staff can help and cook light dishes including:
- and salads in their client’s home.
This service is currently offered regionally in the areas in and around:
- Castle Point
We ask for a minimum of one hour per visit however this can be combined with an existing service such as Home Help to support you with cleaning or shopping or a full one hour for food preparation only.
A service you can trust
Our staff have completed a Level 2 qualification in Food Hygiene and the service is registered with the Food Standards Agency.
To give you peace of mind all of our Food Preparation staff are fully trained, insured and police checked via the Disclosure and Barring Service. They are also Dementia Friends which means they have completed dementia training developed by the Alzheimer’s Society.
Food Preparation staff work to our Never Walk Away safety policy which sets us apart from other providers. If one of our clients is in difficulty or fails to answer the door, our staff will follow a pre-agreed emergency plan and will not leave until they know their client is safe.
The health and wellbeing of our clients is at the heart of everything we do and our approach has been universally praised and gives great reassurance to both clients and their families.
