We’ve been given the use of a wonderful allotment in Longford, Gloucestershire. This community allotment will be a space for local organisation, volunteers, and older people to come together and share their love of gardening and growing.

Earlier this year, we welcomed a team of volunteers from local company Spirax Sarco, who helped us clear the space and make it fit for purpose. Once the ground was ready for planting, our volunteers and partners quickly got to work and have planted a range of plants, including flowers and vegetables.

Our plan is for the allotment to be a space where community groups and local partners can come together. We’re keen that the benefits of the allotment are experienced by as many local people as possible.

We also plan to share any produce harvested from the allotment with the local community. And in fact, we’ve already been able to make our first vegetable donation! We were delighted to present a crop of vegetables to The Wiggly Worm, a local initiative who bring people together over cooking and sharing food. Our produce is truly a community crop from fork to plate.

This is a community project that we’re still developing and we’d love for you to help us make it a success!
