A great way to enjoy some exercise and keep active can be through joining a local sports team. Age UK Gloucestershire has teamed up with local partners to ensure that being older doesn’t mean having to sit and watch from the side-lines!

Some of the Walking Sports available in Gloucestershire!

Most of us are aware of the health benefits of keeping active and, for those who enjoy competitive sport, being older doesn’t have to mean watching from the sidelines. Age UK Gloucestershire has teamed up with local partners to bring you a range of walking sports including rugby and football.

Walking sports are primarily aimed at the over 50 age group, although anyone can join in, and sessions are designed to allow all abilities to access the sport, whether they’re old hands or playing for the first time. With plenty of on-court banter and a great social side, why not give it a try!

Currently Gloucestershire has Walking Football, Rugby and Netball available with Cricket growing rapidly! We have information about groups taking place across the county, so contact us for details or go directly to the source below.
