Age UK Gloucestershire is working to identify and understand the specific needs of older carers in the county.
We know that being a carer can be hugely satisfying and rewarding but if you are an older carer you may also have your own needs and face specific challenges. We are keen to understand more about the real experiences, challenges and opportunities for older carers in the county and ensure everyone knows how to access additional support if and when it’s needed.
If your hands-on caring role has recently ended for any reason, we’d love to listen to your story.
Could you share your caring experiences? We are looking for a small group of former older carers who can come together to discuss their experiences, support each other in their changed circumstances, and contribute to a “What I wish I had Known…” Guide to help make life easier for other carers.
If you are a carer, past or present, aged over 65 and would like to tell your story, share your experiences and learn more about the support available from Age UK Gloucestershire and others in the county contact Helen Atkinson on 01452 420931. Hatkinson@ageukgloucestershire.org.uk
We’d love to hear from you.
Thank you to Carer’s Gloucestershire Legacy Fund for their support.
