Location: Age UK Hammersmith and Fulham Head Office

Responsible to: Chair of the Board
Hours: 4 -8 meetings a year including quarterly Trustee Board meetings (usually Monday afternoons) and an annual planning day in addition to the Annual General Meeting.

Age UK Hammersmith and Fulham provides support to older people to continue to live independently with more choice and control over their lives. Through our services we provide information and advice, befriending, practical help and our Active Age Programme of activities with the aim of reducing isolation and loneliness and improving health and well-being. As the population of older people in Hammersmith and Fulham grows, our services are needed more than ever so you will have an opportunity to make a difference where it is needed most.

We are a developing organisation, with an ambitious 3-year strategy, and are currently looking for new Trustees to join our established Board. We believe in developing a diverse Board and welcome applications from people who can bring fundraising, marketing and other skills and experience to our team. An interest in creating better communities, valuing people and sharing a passion for improving the lives of people as they grow older are key qualities that we desire for our Board.

We are looking to strengthen our board with new trustees who have proven and significant achievements in their work areas. We are seeking to increase our expertise in fundraising and marketing. However, we would also be interested in applications from individuals who have previously held Trustee/Board positions or feel they have relevant experience to offer.

As a Trustee you will oversee the performance of the charity during challenging times and use your knowledge and expertise to help drive forward our strategy to ensure the charity is able to meet the growing needs and challenges facing our ageing population. You will make a significant contribution to the governance, and strategic development of the charity by taking on a leadership role and making a lasting difference to local older people.
