Vote now for vital dementia centre funds!

Local organisation Droitwich Spa Meeting Centre needs your support to secure vital funding to continue to help people live well with dementia
The Droitwich Spa Meeting Centre which helps people to live well with dementia in Droitwich Spa and surrounding areas is calling for the support of the local community to help win funding as part of the Aviva Community Fund 2016.
The Meeting Centre is relying on votes to increase their chances of winning funding of up to£18.750 which they hope will go towards ensuring that the Centre can continue to provide a meeting place for up to 20 people each Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at the Droitwich Spa Rugby Club. Only projects with the most votes will become finalists, so additional support is vital.
The Centre which opened in September 2015 is essentially a local club for people living with mild and moderate dementia and their families that offers a warm and friendly programme of activities and expert support that helps them to cope well in adjusting to living with the symptoms and changes that dementia brings. The ethos is on providing a warm and accepting atmosphere where people can re-build their confidence and relax.
Alan Humphries, Chair of the Meeting Centre Trustees says: “A diagnosis of dementia is a huge challenge to come to terms with. People often feel overwhelmed and confused about where to get help and what the future holds. Those coming to the Centre find it to be a place where they can enjoy the company of others and participate in a variety of activities to address their emotional, cognitive and social requirements and help them to adjust to their changing needs, following a diagnosis.”
