Bariatric clients require specialist care from their health and social care carers. In our training sessions, we are often asked about bariatric clients and these particular special needs. Our study day on Wednesday, 22nd April, is designed to share best practice with professionals who would like to know more about how to provide better care for this group of people.

The Office for National Statistics (ONS) May 2021 data showed that over 1 million (1,022) UK hospital admissions had obesity as a factor, an increase of 17% from the 2018-2019 year.

To help support our clients who are obese/bariatric, Age UK Herefordshire & Worcestershire are delighted to have the local NHS hospital supporting us with a talk about ‘Bariatric Stigma’ . The day also includes a client’s journey, specialist skin care needs & manual handling challenges.

This day is specially designed for  Care Workers and Managers in Nursing and Residential Care Homes, Domiciliary Care Settings and Community Support Agencies.

We would be delighted if you could join us & learn more about the needs of the obese/bariatric client & how we can support them through their challenging journey
