Age UK Hillingdon Harrow and Brents statement supporting the Black Lives Matter movement

"Recent world events, such as the Covid-19 pandemic, have, once again shown that the structural inequalities continue to adversely impact on the quality of life, health and wellbeing of the African and Asian diaspora as well as the ethnic minority communities. It is stated by the recent Public Health Report BAME Covid-19 Impact research that people from BAME communities are twice as likely to die from the virus than white communities.

Age UK Hillingdon, Harrow and Brent stand in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter campaign to challenge societal injustices and inequalities in all forms and encourage everyone to join in embracing our diversity whilst striving for a more equal society in which respect and dignity is paramount for all.”
