Support for Carers
Age UK Hillingdon, Harrow and Brent offers a range of support for informal carers.
What each borough offers is different, however our advice team know who can help and what help is available and will point you in the right direction.
Informal carers provide care on an unpaid basis, often to family members. Some will provide a few hours of care each week, perhaps doing the shopping for someone who finds it difficult to get out of the house; others will provide round the clock care and companionship. Many people do not realise they are carers and/or are unaware of the support available to them.
The way we provide help for carers differs in our three boroughs, however the bare minimum we provide is listening to you tell us your unique situation, explaining any support you may be entitled to and providing you with details of those who can help further.
Being an informal carer is hard work, however a problem shared is often a problem halved, so do get in touch.
