Age Friendly Island, (a project funded by The Big Lottery Fund), and Jigsaw Training and Development Services are working in partnership to deliver ‘Dying to Know’ an information day for people over the age of 50, as part of the Celebrating Age Festival in October 2018.
Jigsaw Training and Development Services offer commercial and community training and advice in First Aid, Food Safety, Safeguarding and Health and Safety.
The Age Friendly Island project aims to create a community that is happy, healthy and connected. It strives to make the Island a place where older people age well in every way, every day.
The event, ‘Dying To Know’ is an information day which aims to inform people on the choice of services and products available on the island, and the support available to individuals, whilst navigating the end of life planning process.
The ‘Dying To Know’ event will take place on Saturday the 13th of October 2018, 10.00am to 4.00pm at YMCA Winchester House, Shanklin, as part of Age Friendly Island’s Celebrating Age Festival.
The stall holders attending include solicitors, funeral directors, Ministers, Pets At Rest and Mountbatten Hospice, all experienced in supporting individuals on the practicalities involved when making decisions about end of life.
At the information day, visitors will be able to attend talks on end of life related topics such as funding and financial planning, probate, living wills and the power of attorney.
Whether planning for yourself or supporting family and friends, go along to YMCA Winchester House, Sandown Road, Shanklin, PO37 6HU to find out more.
