A bright and lively newsletter has been launched by Age UK Isle of Wight; designed to inform and advise on how the charity supports Islanders to live well, independently.
The local, independent charity has grown significantly over the last few years, now providing more than 20 services to Islanders, so ‘Living Well’ aims to bring together their range of services into one, easy to read magazine-style newsletter.
Readers will be able to read interesting stories of Islanders who have been supported by the charity, and details of how the staff and volunteers help to improve wellbeing, and support people to remain living independently in later years. It also highlights the various ways that people can support the charity, to help secure their future.
Jo Dare, CEO for Age UK Isle of Wight commented, “We are so thrilled to launch our first issue of Living Well. As a local Island charity, getting the details of our services out to the Island’s most isolated and lonely people can sometimes be a challenge. Our newsletter is a terrific read, and we hope that people learn a little something new about us, or that someone reads an article and thinks ‘That could easily be my Nan’, and then shares what they have learned with those who might benefit from our support. By working together, we can achieve positive change in 2019 for older Islanders”.
The free publication is now widely available at various community locations, and can also be picked up at the Isle Help Advice Centre, at County Hall in Newport.
