About the role
Are you an experienced manager, currently working with older people or those with a vulnerability? If so, we have a newly created role that may be a good match to your skills and experience. As our Operations Manager, you will work 28 hours per week, between Monday and Friday with no weekends or unsociable hours. Reporting directly to the Chief Officer you will manage the delivery of our day-to-day operations which will include the effective management of the budget, and recruitment of staff together with managing all aspects of the team’s performance. You will play a vital role in shaping the culture of our workforce while supporting and developing the team to ensure service excellence. The Operations Manager will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of fully integrated services in line with contract and funder requirements while achieving high-quality and positive outcomes for older people on the Isle of Wight. You will work closely with the Chief Officer to identify opportunities for innovation, growth, and improved service development, whilst developing opportunities to work with a range of external stakeholders. The Operations Manager is required to deputise for the Chief Officer in their absence.
About you
- Proven leadership and management skills, ideally gained in an environment where your role has required you to be agile, flexible, and able to work effectively in a changing environment
- Experience in managing budgetary control along with operational planning
- Experience of managing employee performance and delivering operational excellence
- Skilled in effective relationship-building, influencing and working with a range of external stakeholders
- Highly IT literate with the skills and experience of using a variety of operational systems
