In these challenging times, lots of people have been asking us how they can support older people who are staying at home.

We are so grateful for all of the offers of support received. We have been overwhelmed by the number of applications and have currently halted this process, you can however take part in neighbourly volunteering.

Neighbourly volunteering

Take part in neighbourly volunteering and help support older people who are staying at home due to the coronavirus epidemic. In these challenging times, lots of people have been asking us how they can support older people who are staying at home.

The services delivered by Age UK Isle of Wight and our partners typically require an application and training process that can take several weeks to complete.

In order to best support those older people who may be in need of some simple assistance immediately, we want to encourage you to take part in neighbourly volunteering.

We’ve put together a simple training video and our own spin on a postcard you can complete to offer help and to provide some key information to your older neighbours.

How to get involved

1. Watch our short video about neighbourly volunteering.

2. Download, print and give out our neighbourly volunteering postcards.
