If you are an organisation based on the Isle of Wight and would like to work towards becoming Age Friendly, or if you would like to get involved with our work to influence change in the workplace, there are lots of ways you can work with us.
You can complete our Age Friendly Training and promote the course across your organisation, you can sign up to our Charter to show your organisation’s commitment to being Age Friendly or you can request to join one of our dedicated project groups or our main steering group.
Age Friendly Training
Designed to assist your organisation to understand what is meant by ‘Age Friendly’, how ageing impacts on daily life and equip staff with the skills to communicate effectively & identify accessibility issues
Sign up to The Charter
Signing up to the Charter shows that your organisation commits to giving older people the right to Inclusion, Participation, Confidence, Health & Wellbeing and Contribution.
The AFI steering group drives the project and includes Island organisations from the public, private and voluntary sector dedicated to driving forward projects that endeavour to influence strategy and policy.
The AFI project groups work with the AFI team to engage with members of the community to ensure the work is co-produced and practical things are being put into place, which truly reflect the needs of older people.
