Citizens Advice IW aims to give free, confidential and impartial advice to Island residents. They can provide advice on a range of subjects including: housing, relationships, debt, tax credits, welfare benefits, employment, immigration and health, community care as well as many other issues faced by our local community. Citizens Advice IW also run the Isle Find It Community Directory and Isle Help Me Advice Portal, both featuring the "Recite Me" accessibility programme

Local Island charity that offers a range of creative activities for all ages to tackle loneliness, anxiety/other mental health issues and to encourage new interests and learning. Digital inclusion support for PC's, Tablets, Mobile Phones. They offer a tablet loan scheme subject to availability, step-by-step guides and one to one support from their Creative Hub on Newport High Street.

Together, we’re here to make life fully inclusive for deaf people and those with hearing loss or tinnitus.

It’s a big challenge. But together, we can change things. Here on the Island, we offer the opportunity for our clients to engage with staff via Zoom, Teams, Face Time, or WhatsApp video. If you are not sure how to use these platforms we will help you. We have a local Isle of Wight Facebook page through which you can contact us directly. Clients can also use email to let us know what they need.

Our national web site is user friendly, and you can use it to create your own personalised digital communication card and tell people about your unique communication needs.

The Isle of Wight Association of Local Councils (IWALC) represents the interests of town and parish councils across the island. Membership currently comprises 25 of our 33 local councils. IWALC is a member of the the National Association of Local Councils (NALC) and a full part of the national structure of county associations of local councils (CALCs), We provide access to resources, training and information to member councils enabling them to better serve their electorates. IWALC encourages all town and parish councils to because Age Friendly and Digitally Friendly.


Northwood Parish Council

Northwood was created a Parish in 2007. There are eight Councillors and meetings are held at Northwood Primary School, Wyatts Lane, Northwood. Members of the public are welcome to attend. The Agenda is published three clear working days before each meeting and is displayed on the Village Notice Board. We endeavour to make our website age friendly and also provide information in a non-digital format.


Gurnard Parish Council

Gurnard Parish Council was officially formed due to Public demand in 1985. There are 9 serving Council members who usually serve for 4-year terms, or multiples thereof, and many of the members represent the Parish Council on various other Public Bodies. It is most important for residents to note that Parish Councillors give up much of their spare time to serve the Village, and this service is unpaid. We endeavour to make our website age friendly and accessible.

A community hub providing services throughout the week in a redundant church building which now buzzes with activity. IT drop-in workshops run on Tuesday mornings covering employability skills plus basic IT skills.
