As part of our Extra Mile Campaign, we're calling on local people, businesses and organisations to help us tackle the loneliness and isolation experienced by older people in our community.
On Saturday 28th April two members of Age UK K&C staff, Beth Colquhoun and Jon Fryer, will be running their own specially designed marathon to raise money for our front line services.
Their route around Kensington & Chelsea, shown below, will see them start in Sloane Square and finish in Holland Park, passing the homes of many of our members, volunteers and community partners along the way. And in the spirit of the campaign, they will be literally going the Extra Mile by running 27.2 miles in total!
All of the money raised will go directly towards our front line services which provide companionship and support to hundreds of older people in our community. Anything you can give, large or small, will be greatly appreciated. You can sponsor Beth and Jon here:
The pair say "We might not have time to stop for tea and biscuits, but we'd love to see as many of you as possible on the day, so please come out and support us. We have been providing wonderful, caring and crucial volunteer-led help to the older people of K&C for decades, and your donations will be essential in helping us to deliver these services for a long time to come".
