Covid-19 Update

We are still here to support you during Covid-19 but this does mean we have had to change many of our existing services. To get in touch with us to see if we can help contact us on 0333 360 3700. To see an update on each service please see our #Together campaign page.

Age UK Lambeth’s Community Development works locally to improve the services and opportunities available in the wider community.

Our role is to work with others to strengthen what we call ‘community assets’ in Lambeth. These might be NHS services, community groups offering education and activities, or a helpline offering practical advice: basically anything that can help people improve their wellbeing and/or find support. We want people to be able to get the help they want or take part in things that interest them as easily as possible, so we work to ensure that the number of opportunities available are always increasing. This allows people to help themselves and remain independent.

How can we help?

If you run a community group in Lambeth, or are considering setting one up, we can support you in a number of ways. It might be that you would like to register as a charity but are unsure of the process or what documentation to provide; or have an idea for a particular activity group or service but have questions about the best way of setting it up or organising a local event. We are here to advise. Maybe you have big plans but lack the financial resources to develop them: we have access to different funding bodies and their application criteria, so if you are looking to apply for financial support we can match you up with the sources that suit your aims best and then help with your application.
As part of our outreach work we are members of the Lambeth Disability Hate Crime Partnership.  The Advocacy and Hate Crime Worker can provide support to people who experience hate crime: http://www.disabilitylambeth.org.uk/dasl/hatecrime/e-lambeth-disability-hate-crime-partnership/. Our close work with the health authority can also help your members remain healthier by connecting you with useful information and relevant services. With our knowledge of facilities across the borough, we can also help you find the right venue for your group and connect you with other community organisations to help you be more sustainable. We can help publicise your work through our active social media, website and our mailing list of almost 500 groups and individuals throughout Lambeth.

Get in Touch

We are always looking for new people to work with. Get in touch with us if there is some way we can support you in your community work, if you have an event or service you would like to publicise, or if you want to be added to our mailing list. We also love to go out into the community and meet people, so please let us know if you would like us to come and speak to your group about the help available to them through Age UK Lambeth.
