Time Commitment:  Shifts available: Monday – Saturday, working between 9.30am to 5.00pm (no minimum time commitment is required)

Full training and out of pocket expenses will be provided with all opportunities. 

  • Shop Support - Role ID ref. RO-011 Are you friendlyAre you looking to help others?  Do you want a rewarding experience? You will be helping to keep the sales floor looking great and be part of a friendly team of volunteers and have the support of a Shop Manager. 

    • Supporting at the cash desk and putting sales through the till
    • Advising and helping customers with queries about their purchases
    • Sorting through donations ready to put on the sales floor
  • Shop Display Support - Role ID ref. RO-13 Are you friendly? Do you want a rewarding experience? Do you have a creative flair? Do you have experience in window dressing or visual merchandising? You will be help to create eye catching and enticing windows. Along with the Shop Manager you will select the product for display and dress the windows and interior displays to encourage customers to shop with us

    • Creating eye catching windows, reflecting the trading calendar, to encourage customers to visit the shopHelping to merchandise the interior to promote the stock to look the best it can do
    • Advising and helping customers with queries about their purchases
  • Shop Stock Room Support - Role ID ref. RO-012 Are you friendly? Do you want to feel a sense of achievement? Are you physically fit ? You will be working in the stockroom sorting out donations of clothing, goods and furniture. Helping to prepare items ready for the shop floor and maintain an organised, tidy stockroom, you will be part of a friendly team of volunteers with the support of the Shop Management.

    • Helping to sort out donations into saleable and non-saleable items.
    • Steam clean clothing ready for the sales floor
    • Helping to keep an organised and well maintained stockroom for efficient ease of replenishment
    • Some heavy lifting and using a step ladder may be required.

PAT Tester- Role ID ref. RO-039 Are you friendly? Do you want to feel a sense of achievment? Are you dextrous and good at handling items? Are you willing to take a simple online course to qualify to test electrical items?

  • Help to sort out donations into saleable and non saleable items
  • PAT testing electrical equipment
  • Help to keep an organised and well maintained stockroom for efficient ease of replenishment

Volunteer Ebayer- Role ID Ref. RO-048 Are you confident in listing items items on Ebay? Can you manage all relevant Ebay communication? We are looking for someone who has experience of selling on Ebay. We have lots of donated items that we sell on Ebay (or other sites) to raise money for Age UK Lancashire. We need a person who is confident, committed and reliable and can manage all relevant communication. You’ll be working as part of a friendly team at your local Age UK Lancashire shop. Ideally it would be for one or two shifts per week but we are very flexible.

  • Researching and gathering competitive prices.
  • Photographing items
  • Listing items on Ebay or alternative sites
  • Writing accurate and interesting descriptions
  • Packaging sold items
