Location:             Chorley Head Office

Hours:                  21-28hrs per week (3-4 days) – flexible hours available, to be agreed around core hours.

Grade/Salary:      £50 - £55k FTE dependent on experience

Age UK Lancashire has an exciting opportunity for a Head of Financial Management, Strategy & Planning to join our growing Finance team.

As a county-wide charity working with, and for older people, we believe that later life should be valued and fulfilling. Through the services and support we provide, we aim to promote independence, enhance health and well-being and enable older people to access the information they need to make informed decisions about their lives. 

You will be responsible for ensuring our Finance strategy is achieved.

The suitable candidate will lead, manage and support finance staff to ensure that they are appropriately motivated and developed to deliver assigned elements of the finance strategy. Responsible for enhancing our internal audit programme ensuring that the Charity complies with financial procedures and regulations, you will also lead on, and deliver, financial projects and initiatives in collaboration with the Estates Manager to provide value for money and cost savings in all areas.

You will manage the IT Function, you will develop a robust and cost-effective IT strategy, that both enhances our current IT provision and considers new ways of working.

Supporting the Senior Leadership Team with both regular and ad-hoc reporting and insight, the successful applicant will develop, maintain and continually improve all necessary systems, policies (including reserves) and procedures to ensure effective and efficient financial management within the Charity, meeting the requirements of the ISO 9001 standard.

This is an exciting time to join Age UK Lancashire and this senior position will give the right candidate scope to not only lead a highly effective Finance function, but to actively participate in the growth of the charity.

The nature of this post will require travel across the area. A full driving licence, appropriate insurance cover and use of a car is essential.
