Location:         Age UK Lancashire office-location negotiable

Salary:            £22,552 (FTE) rising to £23,250 on successful completion of a probation period.

Hours:            35hrs or 28hrs a week negotiable.

Age UK Lancashire is very proud of its Countywide Home Help Service, which plays an important part in many older peoples’ lives, enabling older people to remain independent at home by providing practical support with various tasks around the home. With our support older people can continue to engage in their local communities, we can accompany them with their shopping, attend appointments or engage in other activities outside their home.

Age UK Lancashire’s team of Home Helps are professional, flexible and friendly and the service is registered with the Safe Trader Scheme.

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Home Help Co-ordinator to manage this service in the Preston (Central and North) and Fylde Coast areas. The successful candidate will:

  • Have an understanding of the needs and requirements of older people and be flexible in your approach.
  • Be highly efficient and organised
  • Have experience of managing a team who work remotely and organising rota’s, recruiting new Home Helps where appropriate
  • Have experience of achieving your own targets/budget
  • Work in partnership with external agencies to increase referrals into the Home Help service.
  • Be a proficient IT user in Microsoft and use of mobile devices

Working with the Services Manager, you will also develop the service in line with the organisation's 3 year strategy, ensuring a high quality and efficient service is delivered at all times.

The nature of the post will require travel across the area. A full driving licence, appropriate insurance cover and use of a car are essential.
