Salary: £18,500 per annum (FTE).

Hours:  20hrs per week each. Between Mon-Fri. Some flexibility available with the days / hours worked, can be discussed at interview

This is an exciting opportunity; Age UK Lancashire is seeking an Administrative Assistant to work within our Hospital Aftercare Service.

Age UK Lancashire provide a unique Hospital Aftercare Service to individuals across Lancashire. Our service supports hospital discharges and admission avoidance across Lancashire for anyone over 18 years old, who may have suffered a period of illness that has affected their independence after a hospital stay.

The current pressure on NHS hospitals to discharge patients as quickly as possible is considerable. Age UK Lancashire plays a key role in supporting this work and we requires Hospital Aftercare Service Administrators to be based in  Padiham and Lancaster.

We work with the Local Hospitals, with health and social care professionals and a range of other agencies to encourage clients to access services to improve their health and wellbeing. 

As a values led organisation, we are looking for an individual with professional and personal attributes who can make a real difference to the lives of older adults in Lancashire 

Do you have? 

  • Experience as an administrator or transferable skills, please provide details on your application
  • Strong team working skills
  • Strong customer focus
  • The ability to communicate effectively across a wide range of people.
  • The ability to input data accurately
  • The ability to identify and cleanse data held on our customer database.
  • The ability to use Microsoft packages, outlook, word, excel etc.
  • Able to manage your own workload and to use own initiative
  • The ability to use Power Bi is advantageous but not essential as training can be provided

The ideal candidate will be an experienced administrator who is highly organised and can manage task ranging from Data entry and cleansing through to note taking and providing information packs. You will need to have sound customer services skills, as collaborative working with a wide range of partners both internally and externally is essential for the success of our service.

The nature of the post will require some travel to other office sites. A full driving licence, appropriate insurance cover and use of a car are essential.

Full training will be provided to the successful candidate.

DBS: This post is eligible for a basis DBS check and all the associated costs will be met by the employee. The cost for the DBS check is approx. £23 plus an additional administration charge of £5.50 totalling £28.50. This amount will be deducted from an employee’s first

  • Travel expenses will be paid for all work-related journeys. The current rates are 45p per mile for the first 10,000 miles per year and 25p per mile thereafter.
