Services in the Ribble Valley

Community Leisure, Social & Physical Activities
A variety of activities are offered throughout the Ribble Valley to help older people remain active and to promote health and wellbeing.

Day Care Services
We offer a service for older people who need support in order to remain living independently. Our services are based on individual needs and may be subject to an assessment by Lancashire County Council. Private fee places are available upon request.

End of Life Support
We can help terminally ill people and their families make positive, informed choices about end of life care.

Home Help Service
The Home Help Service is available to anyone who is aged 50 and over or living with a disability. Home Helps are able to carry out a variety of tasks dependent on your
needs including general cleaning, laundry, shopping and local errands. The service offers
flexibility and choice, high standards and is competitively priced.

Hospital Aftercare Service
Our team of staff offer practical support in the home following discharge from a hospital ward or Accident & Emergency Department. People must be aged 60 or above and find it difficult to resume their activities of daily living. Support can be planned for a number of weeks. Contact the Burnley General Hospital Coordinator on 01282 436414 or or the Royal Blackburn Hospital Coordinator on 01254 734526.

Information and Advice
Our staff have access to wide range of information on a variety of topics such as welfare benefits, community care, housing and health issues. Each office provides information booklets and access to Age UK factsheets as well as signposting enquirers to appropriate services for further assistance. We can provide additional support with form filling and casework.
