Donate a Pre-Loved Book Campaign

Thursday March 2nd was World Book Day. Children in schools up and down the country have been celebrating by dressing up as one of their favourite book characters. This year are asking businesses to help with our ‘Donate a Pre-loved Book’ campaign which will be running until the end of March.

During this time we are asking that people donate their pre-loved books in an area set up in their work place. Then, at the end of the campaign we will get the donated books collected from them so we can distribute them to one of our Age UK Leicester Shire & Rutland bookshops. If of course there are staff in any offices who don’t have any books to donate why not direct them to one of our shops where they can buy themselves a great pre-loved book at a great price.

Our aim is to recycle over 1,000 books during March but we can only do it with your help. Our Executive Director, Tony Donovan says “this is a fantastic opportunity for everyone young and old, to come together and celebrate their love of books. Not only is this a great way of encouraging more people to read but it also helps raise essential funds and stock for our shops.”

If you think your workplace might be able to help with our campaign please feel free to download the Donate a Pre-Loved Book poster which you can print out and display. If you want to talk to us about any other ideas you may have to support this or indeed any other campaigns please feel free to contact us on 0116 299 2233
