Attending hospital as an inpatient, outpatient or visitor of an older person can trigger more questions than answers about a whole host of issues.
Our Information Centre can help guide you towards answers, support and services to help you as a patient, relative, carer or member of the hospital staff. Our staff is not medically trained and can’t help with medical questions but can help with enquiries about most other subjects.
How can the Information Office help me?
We help by listening to what you need help with and guiding you towards an answer. This might be practical help when you get home from a hospital stay, help to access benefits due to a change in your health or care needs, assistance with form filling for a Blue Badge or perhaps information about Powers of Attorney. We can guide you towards help from within our charity but also with signposting to other local agencies which are best placed to help you.
Where is the Information Office?
We are located on the ground floor of the Windsor Building at Leicester Royal Infirmary, opposite the discharge lounge.
Can I get free information from the office?
Yes. You will be able to talk to one of our staff who will be able to help you with advice and can provide you with leaflets, information guides and factsheets relevant to your enquiry. If they feel it would help you they can refer you on to one of our head office team for further support, such as form filling for Blue Badges, to access welfare benefits or to talk about residential and domicilliary care options.
Do I need an appointment to see someone?
No. The office is open for anyone to drop-in during opening hours. It is a small office so you may need to wait if we are helping someone else when you arrive.
The office is open between 10am and 4pm on weekdays.
