During Carers Week 2019 we are working with Carers MK to help local carers get connected
Research released for Carers Week reveals unpaid carers looking after loved ones living with an illness, disability, mental health condition or as they grow older are seven times more likely to be lonely compared with the general public.
This is something we need to change by getting more carers connected to resources, services and each other. Age UK Milton Kyenes provides support and services to carers all year round.
Thank you to Sainsbury's in Witan Gate, Central Milton Keynes for hosting our information stand on Tuesday 11th June as part of Carers Week 2019.
Peartree Memory Clubs
We run clubs on Monday and Friday afternoon which give people with memory problems the opportunity to enjoy social interaction in a friendly supportive environment.
The Peartree Memory Clubs are for people living with dementia, or symptoms of cognitive impairment, who wish to be as self reliant as possible. Carers can have a break whilst the person experiencing memory or memory-related problems enjoys group activities and good company. Why not give us a ring on 01908 550700 to find out more. You are welcome to drop by for a cup of tea and a chat with our Co-ordinator to see how our clubs are run.
