Age UK Norfolk is inviting people throughout the county to open their gardens and take part in the local charity’s Open Garden Season to help celebrate their 70th Anniversary Year.  The season runs until the end of the summer and whatever the garden size or design, anyone can join in and help raise funds to support older people in Norfolk.
Hilary MacDonald, Chief Executive of Age UK Norfolk said, “We hope that garden lovers across Norfolk will be inspired to join us, whether as a gardener opening up your garden or as a visitor taking the opportunity to enjoy Norfolk gardens.”
Roy, who opened his garden for Age UK Norfolk last year, says, “It was lovely to see people enjoying my garden. A lot of visitors were keen to take away ideas from our garden and transfer them to their own and asked if we would be opening our garden again this year as they’d like to see the garden another year on. So that’s exactly what I’m doing and of course it helps knowing that any funds I raise are supporting a local charity.”
Every penny raised by the Open Garden Season will benefit older people living in Norfolk.
To make opening your garden as easy as possible, Age UK Norfolk will provide ideas and information to help make the event a success.
