With your support we can carry on helping help people like Sheron
Christmas appeal update
Thank you to all our donors who contributed to our 2019 Christmas Appeal, and for responding to Sheron’s story.
Sheron would like you to know that thanks to the support she receives from Age UK Northamptonshire she has felt more confident and optimistic about the future. She recently set up a new craft club to share her skills and connect with others. She has been busy making dresses, purses and quilts for her local community, and has plans to move into a bungalow so she can enjoy having a dog again!
Your donations will go a long way to help fund our much needed vital services for many older people in Northamptonshire. As a local charity we feel privileged to do the work that we do, and your support ensures we can continue to offer care for local older people in Northamptonshire.

After her relationship broke down Sheron was at risk of being made homeless. The stress of becoming a carer had affected her mental wellbeing and she felt "really down in the dumps." Thanks to Amy from Age UK Northamptonshire keeping in contact with her on a weekly basis shemanaged to cope.
“I couldn’t have got through this without her. I was always doing things for other people, so it was really hard to accept that somebody would do something for me. I just don’t understand why people don’t know about Age UK Northamptonshire. Somebody needs to tell people it is okay to phone and ask for help", says Sheron.
A regular monthly donation of £10 will mean an older person can receive benefits advice from one of our advisers, ensuring they have enough to live on and stay healthy and feel supported.
A single donation of £20 can help provide an hour's practical work in a vulnerable older person's home, enabling us to fit a grabrail and help keep them safe and independent.
