Location:   in the community and at Day Centres in Northamptonshire

Rate of pay:  £9.71 per hour

Hours of work: flexible hours 9am to 3pm

About the role

We have recently started a new Day Care At Home Service and post holders will be expected to contribute to its development and expansion. This new role offers the post holder the opportunity to innovate and develop new ways of working, both in the client’s own home or in a day centre setting.  This is a highly rewarding post where you will get to know your clients and see the positive difference you are making to their lives.  You will enable people to meet new friends and socialise as well as join in with activities that they may not be motivated to do when by themself.

You will work flexibly within allocated shifts to support the clients using our day care services, working with the senior manager to develop individual support plans tailored to meet the needs of our clients.  The day care services aim to enhance the physical, mental and emotional wellbeing of each client.  Tasks will include the provision of care in a day care setting, shopping and spending time with clients in their own home to reduce social isolation and promote physical activity and mental stimulation.  We need to recruit five Care & Support Assistants to work at our day centres and in the community, supporting, co-operating and liaising with other staff and volunteers to maintain high standards of care and welfare of older people attending the centres, and in their own homes.  More details of other tasks are included in the job description.

About you

We are looking for people with the ability to work alone, but also as part of a team. You must have empathy and an understanding of the behaviour of others, and the contributory factors behind it.  Good interpersonal skills and the ability to record accurately, both verbally and in writing, are also essential, as are good levels of physical fitness in order to comply with manual handling instructions and to provide personal care to clients.

If you are flexible and adaptable, with the ability to work on your own initiative, we'd love to hear from you.  Full driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential.
