We call regularly and can check everything is ok with you.

New services during the coronavirus pandemic

As our day centres are temporarily closed we are adapting our services to support older people who are staying at home and need us.  Our regular visits are an opportunity for a chat and offer the reassurance that someone will be checking to make sure an older person is safe and well.

  • Meal delivery service for £6 per meal - our fully-trained, caring staff will call at an older person's home to deliver a freshly prepared two-course meal, Monday to Friday.
  • Shopping delivery service £5 per delivery - we will take your shopping list and payment by card over the telephone and bring your items to your home, Monday to Friday.  We need your list by 12 noon for next day delivery.  In the unlikely event that delivery slots for the next day are full the shopping will be deferred 24 hours.

Meals are freshly prepared in our kitchen at The Venton Centre.

We'll bring your shopping order and check you're ok.

We'll take your shopping order over the telephone and deliver your items to your home.

At the moment we are not able to offer a menu but clients can have sandwiches or salad if they prefer, as long as we're given a minimum of a day's notice.

  • Our friendly, reliable staff get to know their clients and care about their welfare.  As well as delivering a delicious, freshly-prepared meal this service ensures that an older person can enjoy a conversation with someone they know and trust.  Our staff are not just providing food.  They are an important social contact for people who are among the hardest hit by the need for social distancing and shielding.  Food will not just be left on the doorstep if there is no answer when we call.  We keep in touch with our clients' families where appropriate and help them support their older relative, whether they live locally or at a distance.

  • When our staff take someone's shopping list over the telephone they are patient and compassionate.  We do not hurry people who are hard of hearing or who might get flustered using the telephone.  We carefully and patiently guide our clients through the process and try to ensure they feel supported and valued.  This service is not just shopping delivery.  It gives an older person who may be feeling anxious about some aspect of life, or who has a concern that is bothering them, the opportunity to speak to another person who will listen and do their best to help.
