Care Homes Advocacy

Care home residents

The Care Homes Advovacy project was funded by Comic Relief for three years (between May 2008 and April 2011).

This funding covered the costs of an advocacy worker on a part-time basis from Age NI. Three care homes (Adelaide House, Corkey House and Sunnyside House) participated in the project, and are part of the remit of the Presbyterian Board of Social Witness (PBSW).

In 2011 PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP was appointed to carry out a summative evaluation of the project. The report can be downloaded below.

As funding has now ended, we are no longer able to provide support via the Care Homes Advocacy project. However, our Advice and Advocacy Service continues to offer independent and confidential support to older people, their families and carers.
