The Ulster Chemists' Association has selected Age NI as their Charity Partner for 3 years 2015-2017.UCA

Age NI is delighted to be working in partnership with the Ulster Chemist Association in 2015. What we have in common is a key focus on the health, care, and independence of local older people.

There are more than 350,000 people over 60 in Northern Ireland. Although people are living longer than ever before, they may not be living better. As we grow older, we face challenges like poor health, poverty and loneliness, and sometimes we need to rely on the help of others, more than we ever did.

Local pharmacies are ideally placed to help the older people that Age NI cannot reach.

Through our partnership, we can increase awareness of vital services for people in later life, their families and carers, by offering advice and information about care, benefits or living independently at home.

UCA will also help raise money through a variety of exciting fundraising events and challenges that will be happening throughout the year.

At Age NI we believe that everyone can enjoy a better later life. Together we can support older people to love later life in local communities across Northern Ireland.

About UCA

The Ulster Chemists’ Association (UCA) is a non-profit making organisation, which promotes the professional and business interests of community pharmacies throughout Northern Ireland.

Members range from independents with one pharmacy to both small and larger independent groups, including Clear Pharmacy, Gordons Chemists and MediCare Pharmacy Group.

For over a century the organisation has worked closely with its membership to keep them up to date with matters in an ever-changing professional and business world.

The UCA also hosts a number of events for members and their team, from professional education and training through to social and networking events.

The UCA’s official publication NI Pharmacy in Focus is the only dedicated pharmacy magazine in Northern Ireland and is published by Profile Publishing. The magazine is packed with interesting, up to date features on business and professional matters, as well as coverage of various social and training events. The UCA Diary is also available to all pharmacies – a useful tool for the office or dispensary.
