The Arts Council Arts and Older People Programme now open, providing an opportunity for individuals and groups to receive funding.

The Arts Council of Northern Ireland has a history of funding and supporting work with older people in Northern Ireland. Recent funding secured from Atlantic Philanthropies means that they can extend the opportunities for older people to access and participate in the arts, particularly in dealing with social justice issues.  The three year Arts and Older People Programme, launched in July 2010, provides older people with the opportunity to use arts as a creative vehicle to explore and highlight social justice issues through a series of artist-led interventions.

This programme has its own priorities and criteria. However, all applications should fit within the objectives stated in the Council’s five year plan and within its artform policies.
