Kaleidoscope together with Belfast Waterfront and Ulster Hall are delighted to announce the launch of this year’s Imagine Arts Festival for Older People.
This year’s event will take place on Wednesday 5th November at the magnificent Ulster Hall and include a host of wonderful arts events, workshops and performances especially for older people.
The highlight of this year’s Festival will, once again, be the spectacular Tea Dance events featuring the sensational John Trotter Trio.
There’ll be free workshops on offer in everything from Ballroom Dancing to Creative Writing to Painting and much, much more. There will also be a chance to roll up your sleeves and try out some new creative pursuits like felt making, gardening, cookery and pottery.
Visitors can enjoy live readings and theatre performances in the group space or take a stroll through the corridors of the Ulster Hall and discover a host of wonderful exhibitions exploring the history of Belfast’s Shipyard, the Ulster Hall's own rich sporting past or the Belfast Print Workshop’s wonderful Lantern Light Intergenerational Project.
This year’s Festival will also include a new Information Centre where visitors can go to get advice and support from a whole range of organisations and agencies involved in working with older people such as Age NI, Engage With Age, Advice NI, CRUSE, the Reminiscence Network and many others.
At the end of a truly memorable day visitors can relax and unwind in the Ulster Hall's cafe area while enjoying some live music and chatting with friends old and new.
The entire Festival Programme is completely free to over 60’s but early booking is strongly recommended as all of ticketed activities fill up very fast. Tickets are available to book at the Waterfront Box Office on 028 9033 4455.
