Friday 30 November & Saturday 1 December
10am - 5pm
Prudhoe Parish Hall and Prudhoe Methodist Church

This Christmas, St. Mary Magdalene Church and Prudhoe Methodist Church are joining together to create a Christmas Tree Festival to raise funds for the lonely older people of Northumberland.

The festival will be held between Friday 30 November and Saturday 1 December at Prudhoe Parish Hall and Prudhoe Methodist Church. Each of the trees on display will be donated and decorated to represent the services and activities of groups in the community. Throughout the weekend, there will be entertainment from local choirs and music groups and refreshments will also be on sale.

Rachel Todd from Age UK Northumberland said: “We are delighted that the two churches have chosen to support our loneliness campaign this year and we are excited to be involved in the event. Statistics show that there are over 7000 lonely older people in the county and all of the funds raised will be used to develop our telephone befriending line and social groups.”

“We would love to hear from local businesses and groups that would like to donate a dressed tree to be on display throughout the weekend. It is a great way to showcase your services and activities to the community.”

Christmas Tree sponsorship is £10 for businesses and free for local groups and organisations. All entries will be promoted in the festival programme, on social media and on the Age UK Northumberland website.  To register your group or business, please contact Rachel.Todd@ageuk-northumberland.org.uk / 01670 784 800 or download the form below and send to Rachel.
