Help At Home

Help At Home is a reliable, personalised and flexible service provided by Age UK North Yorkshire in RICHMONDSHIRE. Our friendly, caring and trustworthy Home Support Assistants can provide a range of services to help meet your needs. We are a Living Wage Employer, as all our Home Support Assistants are paid above the National Living Wage.

The Help At Home Service is flexible and arranged to suit individuals aged 50+ who are resident in Richmondshire. 

The service can be requested by an individual, family, friend or carer. We also accept referrals from social services and other referral agencies where consent has been provided. 

Our local team of trained and police-checked (DBS) Home Support Assistants provide help from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.


The service is supported by


We charge an hourly rate of £17 (minimum of 1 hour) to cover the cost of providing a reliable and good quality service. We do NOT provide personal care such as helping you to dress, go to the toilet or take medication.

Our Support includes

  • Everyday tasks around the home

    We can do your housework for you; vacuuming and dusting, laundry and ironing, general cleaning, bed changing and emptying bins.
  • Help with preparing meals and snacks

    We can help make a tasty meal or snack of your choice
  • Looking after your pet

    We can walk your dog, feed your pets and take them to a veterinary appointment.
  • Shopping

    We can accompany you to the shops or do the shopping for you - food, clothes, presents or things for the home.
  • Getting out and about

    We can take you to your appointments, visit friends, attend social groups, a trip to the cinema or museum. Whatever you fancy!
  • Keeping mind and body active

    We can help you to improve your mobility, with support to exercise at home. We can also help you to keep up with your hobbies and perhaps even find something new to try.
  • Help with paperwork

    We can help you with your correspondence and paperwork, keeping in touch with family and friends.
