We raise awareness of dementia, help people know their welfare rights, and help communities know what their older members need and want.

Let’s Learn About Ageing
Age UK Norwich is dedicated to making later life the best it can be for anyone 50+.  Our interactive pack links into Key Stage 1 & 2 Citizenship Objectives - helping teachers and pupils to learn about the role older people play in society.  Contact Stella Sheldon for a school resources pack.

Working closely with schools in Norwich we run a wide range of intergenerational projects. Bringing together young and old in a range of activities, enables the two groups to share skills and learn together. We work with all ages and activities include – art & craft, gardening, cooking, walking football, reading and lunch clubs.

Pupils from the Jane Austen College worked closely with residents from a sheltered housing scheme to produce Life Story Scrapbooks. Wonderfully individual, these scrapbooks became a portable record of the older people’s history in words, pictures and sounds with the aim of promoting a better sense of understanding and care. Life Stories is now being rolled out to schools across the city.

If you’re a school and would like to set up an intergenerational project please get in touch with our Community Outreach Adviser Stella Sheldon at
