Imagine you, or someone you love, feeling lonely or isolated? Would you benefit from someone to talk to regularly?

The volunteer is cheerful. Her visits help to alleviate my loneliness. I look forward to her visits. I feel happier as a result of her visits. I tend to feel more optimistic about things because I have a volunteer to talk to. She is very kind.1.4 million people are experiencing loneliness and isolation.  We want to help change this.

We support lonely and isolated older people, living in the County, with a volunteer visitor or telephone befriender to chat with regularly.

Our friendly trained volunteers provide regular companionship, provide an opportunity to share life’s experiences and a listening ear.  Whether it’s over a cup of tea, a game of cards or putting the world to rights, everyone feels the benefit of talking.

Unfortunately, this service is unable to provide personal care, tenancy support or domestic help, but if you require any of these please contact Age UK Notts who will be able to point you in the right direction for the assistance you need.
