Our Slimmin' without Women programme offers a solution for men over 50 who want to become more active and lose weight but don't want to go to a mainstream slimming club or join a gym.
Our fun and active ten week programme helps overcome challenges to getting healthier and includes learning about nutrition and different types of exercise, including trying out armchair exercises, gentle walking, circuit training and a tour of local the gym facilities.
Each week participants join in fun, fitness and education sessions, looking at a range of topics including healthy eating, smoking, alcohol and men’s health issues and setting smart goals to achieve their personal targets.
Run by men for men, we also signpost participants to our other activity sessions through our Get Going Together project such as health walks and walking football so they can keep the momentum going!
Everyone who completes the ten week programme will receive a certificate of their achievements at the final week Celebration Event.
At different times during the programme we invite special guest speakers to come along and give an insight into other issues around health and wellbeing. These can vary from smoking, alcohol, bowel cancer and other men's health issues.
