For Later Life Conference: Terms and Conditions
These terms together with any other terms that are referred to in them are the contract between Age UK (“We” “Our” “Us”) and you, the person that has booked to attend the event or occasion (“You” “Your”). This contract applies to your booking and attendance of the event.
The terms of the venue and the terms of other applicable third parties may also apply to you.
You agree that you will behave (i) in accordance with our and any other relevant party’s (such as the venue) reasonable requests and instructions and (ii) appropriately, lawfully and not in a disproportionately disruptive or antisocial manner.
Where we deem that it is necessary to do so we may at our discretion change the format, content, programme, speakers or venue. Should we do this we will endeavour to notify you.
If any such change results in a material disadvantage to you such as it being a material change to the core purpose or content or venue of the event we will inform you as soon as reasonably possible and you may at your discretion attend the event in its changed form or cancel your booking and receive a refund of any monies paid.
We may have to suspend or cancel the event if we experience an emergency or circumstances that are beyond our reasonable control. You may cancel your booking iunder such circumstances and if you no longer wish to receive our services. We may cancel this contract if the emergency or circumstances outside of our control prevents or impairs us from providing the event. If we or you cancel the contract due to an emergency or circumstances outside of our control we will provide a full refund of any monies paid.
If we fail to comply with this contract, we are responsible for loss or damage that you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breach of the contract or our negligence. Loss or damage is foreseeable if they were an obvious consequence of our breach or if they were contemplated by you and us at the time we entered into this contract. If you are not a consumer (a “consumer” is an individual (being a natural person) acting for purposes which are wholly or mainly outside of that individual’s trade, business, craft or profession), subject to any of your legal rights we shall not be responsible for any indirect or consequential loss that you may incur for any reason.
You shall be responsible for any loss or damage to any of your property unless we have caused any such loss or damage.
Your booking is not transferable to any other person unless you give Age UK written notice at least ten working days before the event takes place.
Payment and cancellation
You or your organisation must pay Age UK the full price for the booking at the time of booking or on receipt of our invoice or otherwise in accordance with our payment instructions.
A receipt for payment will be issued on your request. Unless we have stated otherwise the fee is inclusive of those refreshments and written materials provided in connection with the event that we are responsible for providing.
Unless otherwise indicated prices expressed exclude VAT.
Payment must be received by us in cleared funds at least three working days before the date of the event.
If you are a consumer, you may cancel this contract at any time before the event and we will refund any monies paid by you in advance. However, if at the time of your cancellation we have already started to work on and have incurred costs in facilitating your attendance at the event, we may charge or deduct any costs that we have reasonably incurred in fulfilling your booking. We will tell you what these costs (if any) are.
If you are not a consumer and wish to cancel your booking we will be entitled to charge or deduct (as the case may be) the applicable percentage of the event fee that has been paid or is payable according to the date of cancellation:
Before 56 days prior to the event – 20%
Between 56-29 days prior to the event – 50%
Between 28–15 days prior to the event – 75%
14 days or less prior to the event – 100%
This contract is governed by English law and the jurisdiction of the English Courts.
If any provision of this contract is declared by any judicial or other competent authority to be void, voidable, illegal or otherwise unenforceable, the remaining provisions of this contract shall remain in full force and effect.

Age UK, its trading companies and its national partners (Age Cymru, Age Scotland and Age NI) will keep in touch with you by email and telephone about our other charitable conferences and how you can support our vital work if you have provided you prior consent. We won’t be in touch for marketing purposes by post if you have indicated that you do not wish to be contacted.
