Cognitive Stimulation Therapy for the Memory

Published on 01 October 2018 03:18 PM

Age UK Plymouth will be running Cognitive Stimulation Therapy sessions for people with mild to moderate Dementia. The seven week programmes consist of 2 hour weekly sessions, which are designed to help individuals to better cope with their condition.

Each session is an activity based group session which follows a general theme and uses props, games and equipment to engage the participants and cater for the interests of all involved. Each session is structured to support people to develop compensatory strategies for their lapses in memory and to develop techniques to help them with daily challenges.
