Practical support to help maintain your independence
Our Help Around The Home Plus service is designed to support older, vulnerable individuals by providing regular and ongoing practical help, offering companionship and assistance with day-to-day living both inside and outside the home.
Services we can offer you:
- Taking you out on shopping trips
- Visiting friends and family
- Accompanied appointments with your doctor or at the hospital
- Helping with letter writing and correspondence
- Befriending, companionship and conversation
- Support with paying bills
- Helping you sort out your paperwork
- Accompanying you to social activities and events
- Signposting to other agencies for additional services and support
How the service works
One of our assessors will visit you in your home to discuss the HATH Plus service with you and to understand your requirements. Once it is agreed that the HATH Plus service is right for you, one of our HATH Plus Assistants will be allocated to you to help you with your needs.
We try to ensure that you always have the same HATH Plus Assistant for each appointment although this may not always be possible.
All of our HATH Plus Assistants have excellent references and have been thoroughly checked through the Disclosure & Barring Service.
We will regularly monitor the work carried out for you to ensure that you are happy with our service.
What does the HATH Plus service cost?
The charge for this service is £16.50 per hour. We will ask you to sign your HATH Plus Assistant’s timesheet after each visit to verify that the work has been carried out to your satisfaction.
On top of the standard hourly charge for the service you will also have to pay a mileage charge of 45p per mile if the HATH Plus Assistant uses their own car to take you anywhere. You will also be expected to pay for any parking charges or public transport costs incurred during your appointment.
If you know that you will be out on the day when your HATH Plus Assistant is due to visit, you will need to contact our Coordinator on 023 9229 1999 to give at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel the appointment otherwise you will still be charged for the HATH Plus Assistant’s visit (except in the case of emergencies).
Each month we will send you an invoice for the total number of hours’ work you have received, plus any transport costs, which can be paid by cheque, or by card or by direct transfer to our bank account.
