Hebridean Island Cruises

The Hebridean Princess is a ship that offers its 50 guests a truly unique experience, including a fireplace and hearth in the main drawing room on board. Each of the 38 staterooms is totally individual, providing country-house style accommodation, and offering accommodation for 11 single travellers. Exceptionally comfortable beds, relax-into sofas and armchairs, all the epitome of gracious living just as you would expect from a ship which the Queen has privately chartered.

This is an experience which provides much in the cost – fine dining, excursions, walk tours, many drinks, wellies, outstanding guest speakers, WiFi and tips. You arrive and are welcomed into a warm, traditional, yet up to date, ship, whose crew prides itself on world class service. Superb meals are a standard, with crisp tablecloths, sparkling glasses and polished silverware.

The Hebridean Princess sails from Oban around Scotland and her islands, with an occasional foray to the Isle of Man and Northern Ireland. If these itinerary names tempt you, Footloose in Orkney and Shetland or Westering Home and Whisky Galore, along with a desire to enjoy the finer things in life, you will be on just the right ship here.

For a similar experience on the waterways and rivers of Europe, the Royal Crown is gracious and individual. It is one-of-a-kind, and its polished chrome, teak decks, with a hearty nod to nostalgia, and great cuisine, offer a very different experience to many other river cruises. Try this ship once, and you’ll be a convert.

Noble Caledonia

Small ships, big experiences - the Noble Caledonia way! Travel with just 150 fellow passengers to some of the most remote and out of the way destinations possible.

Expedition cruises really are just that: expeditions, often using Zodiacs to reach magical places and the chance to see the natural world in all its glory.

Accompanied by expert ornithologists, naturalists and marine biologists, you cannot fail to totally immerse yourself in the wonders of your trip.

Informal evenings with a little light music are enjoyed by all, and often include a talk by one of the experts, preparing for the day ahead. Antarctica, Borneo or the Amazon, all are there for you to explore and marvel at.

Small ship cruises are often themed around gastronomy, culture, music or gardens. Visiting some smaller ports and exploring the wonderful, related sites, you will be travelling with like-minded people and often a guest lecturer.

In a small group, you can discover little-known, even secret, places which others might pass by.

On many of the ships, staterooms have an ocean view, with a comfortable sitting area.

Dress is casual, the atmosphere relaxed, creating a very special camaraderie amongst travellers. Enjoy wonderful, exciting days returning to your floating base for a restful, informal evening.

Saga Cruises

Wonderful ships, just for the over 50s and designed for British cruisers, so you’ll feel perfectly at home.

Whilst larger than a rowing boat, Saga’s ships take around one thousand passengers, so you can get around onboard, and still find your way back to the (right) cabin! Delicious foodie moments include scrumptious afternoon tea and fine dining, with snacks on offer by the pool, in the lounge and late at night – just like a fine boutique hotel.

You can sail from around the British Isles, head to the Mediterranean or the Baltic and venture across the ocean to the Caribbean, save in the knowledge that you’ll be voyaging with a company synonymous with British standards. Much onboard is included too – meals onboard, wine at lunch and dinner, wifi, gratuities and entertainment.

The shore excursions are carefully planned to ensure you get the best from your destination, be it the Artic region or a tropical island! Explore the world from the sophistication, security and safety of a Saga ship.

Star Clippers

If you are after a totally unique cruise experience, this has to be it. With Star Clippers, you voyage on one of three ships, which are the tallest sailing ships in the world.

The size of the ships is small compared to the cruise liners, so there is the opportunity to visit ports others never see. The atmosphere onboard is akin to that of a private yacht, as there are around just 200 guests per ship.

This is relaxed cruising, the sails unfurling overhead, the wind in your hair and great levels of personal service from the dedicated crew, who also climb the rigging and run the ship too! Fear not, guests are not required to haul on ropes. A sunbathing deck, swimming pool, informal dining and friendly bars ensure your holiday is convivial too.

There is no doubt that taking a Star Clippers cruise is gentle adventure, where you do not need to sacrifice any creature comforts or pampering. And the dining is rightly deemed excellent!

Onboard the Star Clipper, Star Flyer or Royal Clipper, you will be enjoying a sailing tradition that is hundreds of years old. There is romance and true style on these voyages, as the billowing sails pick up the wind to take you on the journey, perhaps passing dolphins and other marine creatures on the way.

Variety Cruises

Do you fancy cruising like a film star on a mega yacht? Sailing into charming ports that even small ocean liners cannot reach, these stunning ships, with less than 50 passengers, create the most delightful holiday experience.

You will engage with the ship’s crew and other guests in a far more personal, intimate way, sharing fun moments both on and off shore. Dining is of exceptional quality, often on deck or even on the beach!

Shore excursions are the perfect opportunity to discover the lesser known side of your destination, with local guides keen to share their homelands with you. And seen from the sea, you really do get a very different angle on a place.

This is travel in the timeless romantic sense – discovery, with all the trimmings!
