Nutrition and Hydration Week 2023

Monday 13th - Sunday 19th March is Nutrition and Hydration Week 2023. There has never been a more important time to raise awareness of the importance of eating and drinking well in later life.

The Salford Story

The Salford Malnutrition Task Force has been an important part of Age UK Salford for 7 years. We have produced a booklet to record and celebrate its work.

Government action is urgently required to prevent malnutrition in older adults due to Covid-19

We have signed this letter from the UK Malnutrition Awareness and Prevention Network Partner Organisations to the Government to support that Covid-19 has significantly impacted nutritional health and increased the risk of malnutrition among vulnerable communities in the UK.

Greater Manchester Nutrition and Hydration Programme Evaluation Report

The report sets out the findings of the evaluation into the impact of the Greater Manchester Nutrition and Hydration programme in identifying and preventing malnutrition in older adults

In most cases, malnutrition and dehydration are preventable. As we get older, we may find it more difficult to maintain a healthy weight, which can have a big impact on our wellbeing. Being aware of the signs to look out for, and thinking about what may be getting in the way of eating and drinking well will help you to stay healthy and independent.
