What is e-Pad?

Technology such as mobile phones, smart phones, e-readers, and tablets, can appear confusing or intimidating for those who have not been given the opportunity to understand their use.

e-Pad is our new initiative to provide instructional courses for older people, to educate and familarise them on how to use smart phones and devices. Through explanation and time hands-on, we hope to improve their quality of life by getting them accustomed and capable of using these devices; whether it's for keeping in touch with friends and family, or checking their bank balance over the internet. Anyone who attends can discover a range of topics on social media, online shopping, banking, even photo editing, and how to stay safe and protected on the internet.

We will provide a range of devices for time hands-on, though we would encourage you to bring your own if possible: especially if you have received such a device from members of your family, possibly as a birthday or christmas gift, and need some extra help to use it! There is nothing to be ashamed about, and within a short span of time, you can impress them with your new-found knowledge!

Where and when?

These classes are based in Scarborough, and if anyone is interested in attending (including Filey), or finding out more information on e-Pad, please contact our main office. Whether arranging a place for yourself or a relative, we will be happy to help. Currently, our classes run as follows:

Monday, 1:00pm - 2:30pm

Friday, 10:00am - 11:30am

Please note, that each session currently has a small fee of £4, but this also entitles you to some tea and biscuits!
