During their 8-hour day at work, during the school run and through evening pastimes, most people will have a number of interactions and conversations with a variety of people throughout their day.
But can you imagine going through your whole day with no-one to talk to?
Sadly that is the reality for many older people in Scotland, with 40% of those over 75 saying that the TV or domestic pet is their main form of company.
The ‘Nae Talk Walk’ is a sponsored 8 mile silent walk. Each mile you walk in silence represents an hour of loneliness for an older person in Scotland.
The walk can be completed by small or larger groups. Whether it’s 8 miles or a bit less, a city or country walk, all you need is a route, walk leader and your walking shoes to ensure everyone in Scotland can Love Later Life. Taking part in a ‘Nae Talk Walk’ is a great way to get fit and active and enjoy the outdoors whilst supporting the work of Age Scotland.
