We’re asking our supporters, through their personal and professional networks, to act as champions for Age Scotland. You can do this in various ways:
Spread the word
Talk to grassroots groups about the importance of older people staying engaged, active and valued in their communities and living lives characterised by independence and dignity. We can provide induction training and support materials to equip our champions for this – which supports our advocacy work at national level.
Opening doors to others who can lend a hand
Perhaps you’re in a position where you can introduce us to friends and contacts who might want to support our work using their time and talents. We’d like help, for instance, in building more corporate partnerships which is particularly important in the context of an ageing workforce and age inclusion.
Serving on Age Scotland’s Development Board
To support our longer-term fundraising, we have a Development Board of men and women who use their time and talents to help us in ways that play to their individual strengths by, for instance, acting as a sounding board for ideas, facilitating introductions, working as advocates, organising events etc. The group meets three times a year although the individual members are active outside the meetings and keep in touch regularly with our Fundraising team.
