We’re most grateful to Age Scotland’s donors, who give with a generosity of spirit, enabling the charity to make a difference in the lives of Scotland’s older people.
To demonstrate the impact of our work, and make it tangible, we’ve included some indicative costs and illustrations – which relate to our Independent Living work, below.
- £5 is the average cost of handling a call to our Helpline.
- £50 is the monthly cost of making a daily welfare calls (Good Day Calls) to each vulnerable older person who subscribes to our service (70 places are available free of charge for older people eligible for pension credit).
- £85 is the cost of supplying and fitting a Key Safe (through our sister Charity, Care and Repair Edinburgh) to enable older people to return home from hospital.
- £125 is the weekly cost of providing our Community Connecting service – from which 60+ older people at any given time are gaining active support to connect socially with others with whom they share common interests.
