Age Scotland is the national charity for older people. We work to improve the lives of everyone over the age of 50 so that they can love later life.
We support and enable hundreds of community and older people’s groups across Scotland. We provide information, friendship and advice through our free helpline and publications. We tackle loneliness and isolation with our Community Connecting Service and much more.
We are looking for a Policy Officer to assist Age Scotland in monitoring, analysing and influencing public policy developments that affect the interests of older people in Scotland, with a focus on housing and related policy areas such as fuel poverty and energy efficiency.
The post holder will also build relationships with key influencers, engaging with a wide audience and ensuring that older people have a voice within policy, communications and campaigns.
In the first instance, this appointment will be until March 31st 2020. Funding bids for the project are submitted to the Scottish Government annually.
The post will be based in Edinburgh, but you will be expected to occasionally travel throughout Scotland and the wider-UK.
The successful applicant must have experience in policy roles, providing advice to a wide variety of audiences, in both verbal and written form.
