Senior Telephone Adviser

Based in Edinburgh
Salary £25,000pa

Age Scotland is the national charity for older people. We work to improve the lives of everyone over the age of 50 so that they can love later life.

We support and enable more than 1100 community groups across Scotland, provide information and advice through our free helpline and publications, tackle loneliness and isolation with our Community Connecting Service and much more.

We work to influence policy makers and run campaigns to make Scotland the best place in the world to grow older.

Will you help us to achieve this by becoming a member of our team?

We are currently recruiting a Senior Telephone Adviser to work in our Helpline. The successful post holder will:

  • Deliver an Information, Advice & Friendship service for older people in Scotland, their carers, families and professionals primarily by telephone, email and letter.
  • Act as Champion on agreed subjects.
  • Share responsibility for case checking
  • Support the AS Telephone Advisers.

We are looking for an effective communicator with a good understanding of issues affecting older people and the Ability to cope with the pressure of complex and emotionally demanding enquiries.

The post will be based in Edinburgh, but you may be expected to occasionally travel throughout Scotland and the wider-UK.
