Benefits Workshops

Age Scotland online benefits workshop

The benefits system is complicated; it can be difficult to work out what you are entitled to, and how to claim it.

Many older people in Scotland aren't claiming the benefits that they are entitled to, despite the fact that the additional income could make a big difference to their daily lives. Our benefit workshops aim to raise awareness of the financial support that is available to older people, with advice about how and when to apply, and what to do if you are unhappy with a benefit decision.

You can take part online using the free Zoom app.  All you need is a laptop, computer, tablet or smartphone, and an internet connection. We do the rest!

Unlocking your entitlements: benefits for people over State Pension age

This workshop aims to raise awareness of the common benefits that support older people, including Pension Credit, Attendance Allowance, Carer’s Allowance, Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction. It covers the main rules, how to make a claim and what to do if something goes wrong.

Attendance Allowance: completing the form

This workshop aims to help anyone who intends to complete an Attendance Allowance form, for themselves or for someone else. It will give you information, strategies and tips to make the process more simple and less daunting.
